Jade Lotus Necklace

The lotus is the embodiment of strength and tranquility. Delicate looking on the outside, but is firmly rooted underneath the calm water it lays on. Every part of the lotus is appreciated from its beautiful petals, to its nutritious roots, and seeds.

This pendant features a carved lotus jade in its center, surrounded by eight "petals" jade beads, an auspicious number in Chinese culture. I chose for it to be made fully in jade to honor not only the everlasting beauty of the lotus flower, but also the solid lotus mooncake, a favorite of mine.
